  • I have 2 dogs. One of them has a food guarding problem which was possibly a result of a one-time incident – her food was stolen by another dog at home. Since then she growls at whoever walks close and bites when I wanted to pick up the bowl after she finishes eating. I even waited for 30 mins, but still she was not comfortable with me taking the bowl away. Do you have similar experience and what do you do to solve this?

      Hi Hannah,

If she readily and safely takes food from the hand perhaps try hand-feeding her meals. Make sure to ask her to do something for the food-no freebies. Also, remove the bowl altogether so she has nothing to guard.

      Hope this helps.
